(HC) Spot-checking (by HC) RC3 data against those in the NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED) disclosed some discrepant redshifts. Cathy Clemens and John Huchra at the Harvard/Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics have checked through this list, comparing it with ZCAT, their list of selected redshifts, and have reobserved some of the problem objects. Pascal Fouque, who prepared the RC3 redshifts, has also looked at these discordant cases. Based on these checks, we have resolved some of the discrepancies. These are noted above. Unresolved cases are listed here; we have not yet changed any of these entries in RC3. UGCo -- Distance and position angle from UGC galaxies with precise positions transformed to RA and Dec; from UGC Notes. All galaxies: the supergalactic positions were calculated using the incorrect origin at the Galactic equator given in the RC2 introduction (note, however, that the supergalactic positions in RC2 were calculated with the correct origin). These incorrect supergalactic coordinates have been replaced with coordinates using the correct origin as given in the Introduction in Volume 1, page 12. (BT) All galaxies with (B-V)(t)0 and/or (U-B)(t)0: these two derived parameters were calculated using the RC2 formulae rather than the correct RC3 formulae. These incorrectly calculated corrected colors have been replaced in this MR version of the catalogue with colors calculated as explained in the Introduction in Volume 1, pages 47 to 49. (RB) All galaxies with derived parameters dependent on galaxy types, where mean T is not given: the following mean T were assumed based on the given type: T = -5 for ellipticals, T = -2 for lenticulars, T = +4 for spirals, and T = 10 for irregulars. (RB/HC) Those galaxies with T < 1 which also have B(t)0 and m(21) listed, did not have their hydrogen indices calculated. As explained in the Introduction, 21-cm self-absorption is assumed to be zero for these galaxies, so the hydrogen index has been simply calculated as H.I. = m(21) - B(t)0. and inserted in this MR version of the catalogue. (RB) All galaxies south of -17.5 deg with m(B) from the ESO-LV database, except Shapley/Ames galaxies: m(B) was copied directly from ESO-LV and was not reduced to the B(t) system. Therefore, m(B) was replaced with m(B) = 13.229 + (0.980 +- 0.008)[B(t)LV - 13.244] (note change from Equation 48, page 42, Volume 1). For sigma m(B) = +-0.14, read sigma m(B) = +-0.21. (GV/RB/HC) All Shapley-Ames galaxies south of -17.5 deg (except NGC 3571 and NGC 5967 which are not included in ESO-LV): the weighted mean m(B) and its mean error were incorrect due to the incorrect m(B) and mean error reduced from the ESO-LV database. Therefore, weighted mean m(B) and its mean error were recalculated using the correct weights, and these corrected values were inserted into this MR version of the catalogue. (HC/GV/RB) Galaxies from CGCG Volumes 5 and 6: errors on m(B) were incorrectly calculated in Equation 45 using the Virgo area coefficients. The correctly calculated errors have been inserted into this MR version of the catalogue. (HC/RB) All Shapley-Ames galaxies: mean m(B) was found to be affected by errors of unknown origin. Therefore, mean m(B) has been recalculated exactly as stated in the Introduction, and this value inserted into this MR version of the catalogue. (RB) All galaxies in the above four sets: since the mean error on B(t) and m(B) was recomputed, weighted means between B(t) and m(B) were recalculated, and -- when a heliocentric velocity was available -- B(t)0 was recalculated from the result. Finally, the hydrogen index was recalculated whenever an m(21) was available. This was not done, nor were (B-V)(t)0, (U-B)(t)0, or m'(25) calculated when T = 90 (I0) or when T = 99 (Pec). This MR version of the catalogue contains these corrections. (HC/RB) All galaxies in the south-equatorial zone Dec = -2.5 degrees to -17.5 degrees: the preliminary version of ESGC used for RC3 contained many incorrect position angles. Therefore, while we confirm and remeasure (when necessary) the ESGC position angles, we have replaced those in RC3 with position angles taken from "Die Herschel-Nebel" (Reinmuth 1926) for the brighter galaxies, and with position angles measured by Skiff (private communication) or by Corwin. (HC/BS/FS) Finally, some good news: Buta and Crocker (AJ 103, 1804, 1992) have photoelectric aperture photometry of 38 galaxies -- 36 in RC3 -- and have derived mean photometric parameters in the RC3 systems (see their Tables 4 and 5). We have added these data to the current version of RC3, using the following mean errors: sigma[B(t)] = 0.14 (0.18 when B(t) was marked with a colon); sigma(total and effective colors) = 0.02 (0.03); sigma(logA_e) = 0.03 (0.04); and sigma(m'_e) = 0.10 (0.14).
